When the American Idol tour came to the Portland Civic Center, 300 miles away, on September 21, 2006, Lindsey was so excited to get tickets!   She had never been to a concert before, and she had never met anyone famous before.   She was determined to meet Ace, Paris, and Chris, and even left school that day to get to the venue early and made “Paceis” bracelets for each of them.  Once at the Civic Center she and her mother saw Bucky Covington walking down the stairs, but were so surprised they didn’t say anything to him.   They soon realized they weren’t supposed to be inside yet, so went outside only to see Kellie Pickler!  She was so pretty and sweet, and Lindsey got her autograph.  Next, Bucky came out, and this time Lindsey did talk to him and got his autograph and a picture with him as well!

Elliott Yamin came out soon after, and Lindsey got his autograph and told him, “My brother’s a diabetic, like you!”   Elliott bent down and said, “Well you give him a hug for me, sweetie.”   Lindsey thought that was so sweet, and then was shocked to see Chris Daughtry come outside.   After getting his autograph she tried to give him one of the bracelets she had made, but realized she had made them so small she couldn’t get it off her wrist!   Chris proceeded to help her, and managed to get it off of her tiny wrist!   It was too small for him to put on his own wrist, but he took it from her as a gift anyway.
Well finally, Ace came outside!  As soon as Lindsey saw him she started jumping up and down and shouting!   Her mother had NEVER seen her act this way!   He was about three feet away from her, and Lindsey shouted, “Ace is a gorgeous creature!”   As soon as Ace heard that, he smiled and came over to her and hugged her.  Lindsey’s entire face lit up!  He gave her his autograph, and she gently told him, “Ever since I heard you guys were on tour, I promised myself I’d hug you.”   Ace bent down, put his hand on her cheek, and said, “Well you’re a woman of your word!”   It was UNBELIEVABLE!!!  Lindsey hugged him again, and Ace said, “You’re the ‘huggy princess’ today!!”  He gave her a new nickname!  She gave him one of her bracelets, and wrote down her website address….Ace said he would take a look at it!  With only ten minutes left until show time, Lindsey got yet another hug!
During the concert, Lindsey and her mother sat beside the stage and could see everything perfectly.  They were having a great time, and during the group song “We Are the Champions”, three staff members asked Lindsey if she would like to move closer to the stage.  Before they knew it, the staff members lifted Lindsey over her seat and put her on a stand about six inches away from the stage.   Then the song “Living in America” started, and Lindsey put her hand out only to have Taylor Hicks, Paris, Chris, and Ace touch her hand while they sang!   After the show, Lindsey saw Ace again, who said, “Hey, I saw you up front!” and got one last hug from him.  Lindsey and her mother couldn’t believe he had recognized her!
Lindsey’s mother would love to thank Ace for being so nice, and says Lindsey looks at the pictures and autographs all the time.  She still can’t believe she met him and the other idols, and hopes to see them all again someday – she even wants to sing for them!  She would love for everyone (all the idols included) to visit her website, and wants everyone to call her the nickname Ace gave her:   The Huggy Princess!
Lindsey wasn’t really an American Idol fan until her mother, who had always watched, got her interested in Season 5 by having her watch the Greensboro, NC auditions.   She loved it so much that she never missed another episode all season, and it has become her #1 favorite show!  She fell for Ace the moment she saw him.   She not only loved his great smile and looks, but she also loved his voice.  When she found out he visits sick children on Christmas Day, she decided that he gives so much of himself to others that he must have a heart made of pure gold.  She also fell in love with Paris Bennett and Chris Daughtry, and even started her own website she nicknamed “Paceis”.  Lindsey was always nervous on Wednesday nights because somebody always got voted off the show.  Always sensitive, she cried herself to sleep the night Ace was sent home.
