My Mom lets us stay up late to watch American Idol; we all watch together except my Dad.  In the beginning I thought my Mom liked Ace the best because he was cute, but then I realized… he was the best singer!  And I liked him because my Mom said he sings for sick children in the hospital – I think that’s nice.  My favorite week on the show was when he sang We Will We Will Rock You, because he did it even better than Queen!  I listen to that all the time on my iPod shuffle.  On Queen night we voted so much and even my Dad voted for his first time!  My Mom made him.  We must have voted enough because Ace was not voted out that week.  But then when he was voted out, my Mom and I cried.  (My Dad and my brother did not cry.)
Then my Mom went to New York to see the American Idol concert.  She let me record a message for Ace on her phone, in case she would get to meet him.  She did get to meet him!  He listened to my message and he left one back for me.  He said I was the bomb!  He said someday I could sing We Will We Will Rock You with him if I practice!  After that, I wanted to meet Ace too.

Then the concert came to Philadelphia where we live.  But we didn’t have tickets and we couldn’t order them online because our power was out.  But my Mom and I drove to the concert anyway.  It was a long drive and we were nervous to get tickets.  My Mom was stressed out.  We got there just in time and we got two tickets – they were great seats!  Then we saw a friend of my Mom’s and she gave us backstage passes.  So everything worked out really well.
We had really good seats for the show.  I could see all the Idols.  My favorite parts were when Ace does this really big jump and also when he does the pound of his heart.  I liked when they sang ‘We Are The Champions’ because it was true.

After the concert, we went backstage.  It was really fun.  The Idols came in one by one by one, and they all signed my body.  Paris signed my forehead and Chris signed my palm, and Bucky and Elliott signed my arm… everyone was really nice to me.  But the nicest one was Ace.  He really liked me, and we talked about a lot of stuff.  He’s the youngest brother and I’m the youngest brother and we both like football.  And we both run the 40 yard-dash.  Ace gave me lots of hugs and made funny faces with me, and he signed the back of my shirt.  Now I sleep in that shirt and I won’t let my Mom wash it.  Ace and I are pretty good buddies now, and I think Ace is a really great singer.  I want him to make a lot of money and I want him to come to Philadelphia again.  I really love him.
